I\u2019ve got exposed brick fever at the moment. Revealing the original brickwork for just one wall in a room will instantly modernise it and give it that Shoreditch-warehouse feel that is right on trend at the moment.<\/p>\n

If you don\u2019t want to sacrifice an entire room to the exposed brick Gods, you could just do it in the hallway. This is less risky as you don\u2019t usually sit in a hallway, and in this case it works fantastically as it\u2019s part of an open space. The bookshelf takes away any over-exposure and gives this look a subtle edge.<\/p>\n

A slightly safer option is to paint a thin layer of white over the exposed brick. As you can see, it makes the room look brighter but doesn\u2019t take away from the effect. This is a great option if you have high ceilings and don\u2019t want to commit to a red brick wall in your living room.<\/p>\n

I love exposed brick in the bedroom. It gives a laid-back ambience to the room and if you put it behind your bed you don\u2019t even have to look at it while you\u2019re watching TV. Again, whitewashing the brick will give the room an element of brightness.
