I don\u2019t know about you, but I can\u2019t believe Christmas has come round this quickly. Every year I dread looking at my bank account, knowing it\u2019s been drained buying expensive and probably un-used gifts for my entire (huge) family.<\/p>\n

Well, it stops here. I can\u2019t afford it this year and if you can\u2019t either take a look at these DIY gift ideas that you would be happy to receive yourself.<\/p>\n

1.) Make Your Own Candles<\/p>\n

Everyone loves candles at Christmas. Walk into any department store and you\u2019ll be greeted with prices up to \u00a3100 for ONE scented candle. We can\u2019t afford that this year, so let’s make them at home. You can decorate them \u00a0with cinnamon sticks, or by tying brown string around them to give your gift an authentic, home-made edge. 2.) Brunch Basket<\/p>\n

I love me a brunch basket. There\u2019s nothing like home-made jam and freshly baked bread. You can do this at home the day before Christmas, and everyone will love it. Why not bake some banana bread<\/a> alongside some blackcurrant jam<\/a>?\u00a0You can wrap them up in brown paper with string and nip along to a charity shop to find an old basket and some jam jars. Cheap as chips, fun and thoughtful.<\/p>\n
