It’s easy to want to stay indoors all\u00a0 weekend in this freezing cold weather, and in London especially it can be hard to find reasons to go outdoors. I went antique shopping this weekend and it was a great way of wiling away the time and picking up some gorgeous bits of furniture and accessories for the home, at bargain prices too!<\/p>\n

And even if you’re just browsing, you can get lost in the depths of a market or shop so easily. So I thought I’d do some research and dig out the best antique hot spots in London. Here are my favourites:<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0Bermondsey Square Antique Market<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

This is a lovely gem in the heart of south east London. Bermondsey Antiques is open on Friday’s from 6am to 2pm and sells everything from furniture to old tapes to culinary gems. If you can’t make it on a Friday, go to Maltby Street Market<\/a> on a Saturday, it’s just round the corner and is a fantastic place for food and coffee.<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0Alfie’s Antiques<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

Alfie’s is a much-loved London gem, hidden away in Marylebone. It’s London’s largest indoor market so is a great way to spend a winter afternoon. Here you can buy furniture, jewellery, paintings and vintage clothes as well as countless other bits and bobs.<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0The Cobbled Yard Antique Store<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

An ever-changing array of vintage clothes, furniture, food and pop-ups, this antique market is located in Stoke Newington. It’s a great place to travel to for the afternoon, with a wonderful village-feel it won’t seem like you’re in London and you’re guaranteed to find some awesome, unique stuff for your home and wardrobe.<\/p>\n

4.\u00a0The Furniture Cave<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

This is an antique store on the upmarket King’s Road. It’s a little pricier but you’ll find some incredible pieces here, especially if you’re looking for new furniture and fabric. It’s located in the heart of the interior design community of London, so you’re guaranteed to be shopping amongst the best stock there is.<\/p>\n

5.\u00a0The Old Cinema<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

This antique market is, you guessed it, situated in an old cinema. It’s in Chiswick which is a lovely area, and sells every kind of furniture you could possibly want – antique, art deco, retro, industrial. Kit out your interior with this stuff and you’ll find your space looks timeless and stylish. Definitely worth a visit and one of my favourite markets in London; you won’t leave here empty handed.<\/p>\n
