Goodness knows we need some sunshine in our lives right now and Pantone<\/a> has delivered! For around 20 years their Colour of the Year<\/a> has influenced trend patterns across a number of industries including fashion, interior design and product packaging. This year they\u2019ve chosen the sunniest of yellows (\u201cIlluminating\u201d 13-0647TC for textiles nerds) and a classic mid-grey (\u201cUltimate Gray\u201d 17-5104TC). The pairing represents how different elements work together to support and complement one another. Pantone says \u201cthe union \u2026 is one of strength and positivity\u2026 that encapsulates deeper feelings of thoughtfulness with the promise of something sunny and friendly.\u201d<\/p>\n

We have long been fans of this colour combination here at Loom & Last and you’ll see it pop up in our branding, lifestyle imagery and throughout the website.<\/p>\n

We have been selling fabric, blinds and curtains for many, many years and grey NEVER goes out of fashion. When we launched our bed linen and homeware ranges at the end of 2019 we predicted our grey offerings would be a popular choice for our customers and we were absolutely right. It goes with everything without being boring. It can be cool (a blue-grey) or warm (a brown-grey). You might paint your walls light and bright (e.g. white or ivory) and use grey throughout the room on large textile items such as bed linen, sofas, throws, window dressings and rugs.<\/p>\n

Yellow, on the other hand, adds a beacon of interest to interior design. Attention-grabbing, optimistic and warm; yellow can brighten up both traditional and contemporary settings. Indeed, we sell as many cheerful, yellow, floral fabrics as we do plain. While Pantone\u2019s offering may be a little on the neon side of the spectrum, it proves that the yellow trend isn\u2019t going anywhere.<\/p>\n
