We’ve said our sad goodbyes to summer and now it’s time to embrace the changing season ahead. Once the clouds have moved past we’ll start to see bright autumnal sunshine, with plenty of greens, browns and reds to tickle our colour palettes.
England is good at changing season, and with each change I always get an itch to pay homage with my home decor. Autumn is easy to bring into the home – think potpourri (it’s back in), orange hues and thick blankets.
Here are a few ideas to get you going…

Cosy up
What better way to get excited for the chilly weather with plenty of warm blankets and throws. These beautiful autumnal colours work well to cosy up your home, and it’s a great excuse to get shopping. Mix up the oranges with cool greys and creams.

In the kitchen
A great way to bring the outside in is by decorating your kitchen – the heart of the home. I love this beautiful autumnal table setting. The dark wood and wild flowers gives an immediate cosiness, but the DIY leaf mobile brings it all together. This is a great project to do with the kids on a Sunday in September.

Accessorise
I love autumn because of all the different patterns and shapes it makes. Leaves on the ground, conkers in the trees, silhouettes of tree branches against sunset. These gorgeous geometric shapes perfectly epitomise the season from Dekolehti.

A centrepiece
Create an autumnal centrepiece in time for Halloween. You can cut out the middle of a pumpkin and fill it with gorgeous wild flowers like this. Another easy and fun project for the family.
