Child Safety

Window blind cords and chains can pose a risk to young children or babies who can injure or even strangle themselves on the hanging looped cords.

As a member of the BBSA’s ‘make it safe’ campaign, we're committed to making our customers aware of the risks and how to make their blinds safe in situations where the risk of injury or strangulation is significant.

All of our products are fitted with safety accessories to minimise the risk of injury.  In addition, we ship all of our Roman and roller blinds out with instructions on how to make your blinds safe, as well as the accessories required to do so.  If you're in any doubt about purchasing a roller or a Roman blind for any room in your house, you might want to consider using curtains or a blind system without a looped cord mechanism, which we can supply.  Just call us on 01394 775 670 and ask about child safe blinds.

The most important safety steps you can take are:

1. To ensure window blind cords and chains are always kept out of reach of babies and small children using the chain/cord tidies or cleats provided with your blind.

2. To move cots, beds and any furniture away from windows and blinds – remember children love to climb.

For a free blind safety pack, including all the fixtures and fittings you need to make your blinds safe, just drop us an email with your name and address and we'll send one to you via post.
