Accessory of the week: teak

Teak is a hard, durable kind of wood that is used for outdoor furniture or onboard ships as it’s almost indestructible. It was seen as a status symbol in the 1960s and 70s as it’s more expensive than other wood. As a result, there’s loads of fantastic pieces of teak furniture out there on eBay and Etsy at bargain prices and, what do you know? It’s all coming back into fashion. Everyone had one of these in the 60s… Well they should have if they didn’t because not only is this bang on trend but it’s durable and can hold the weight of a TV any size, even the 20 year old one in the spare room. This decor is fantastic as the accessories are consistent with the vintage style yet it hasn’t been over done with the walls and curtains kept plain white.
