Clutter busters

What’s worse? A miserable, rainy day in January or coming home to a messy house? Well, there’s not much you can do about the rain or the fact it’s January, but there is a lot you can do to de-clutter your home. Here are a few ideas on how to keep your house in ship shape because, well, January’s the worst and I want you to feel better by tidying up.

Home office

Start with your office, whether at home or at the workplace. There’s no excuse for papers and folders everywhere. Purchase some matching, stylish folders (either white or black; none of those horrible reds and yellows), and organise your desk space. It’ll look great and you’ll find that you’re much more productive with your time.

Bathroom

The bathroom is a place to relax and take it easy, so there’s nothing worse than finding toothpaste and shampoo all over the place. Why not install some cupboards or a draw in some dead space? Whether behind the bath or under the sink, this is a fantastic way of organising your bathroom and getting some extra storage room.

Bedroom

This is a great idea if your bedroom’s a little on the small side. Lining the ceiling with a bookshelf is a good way of making your space less claustrophobic. Books take up a huge amount of space and can often look messy. This is a col0urful way of lining the walls and looks pretty stylish too.

Kitchen

Why not make use of the empty space by your fridge to store those awkward tins and jars that clutter up your kitchen? It will save you cupboard space and gives you a ready-made pantry to boot. This is a great solution for a smaller kitchen.
