Decorating for Summer

Summer is so nearly here, and I’m itching to make some changes around the house. I’ve found piles of summer inspiration (sumspiration), and it’s important I share it. With a few small changes you can transform your drab old home into a glorious sunshine hut of lovely.

Paint it bright

You can paint your kitchen chairs different colours to create this beautiful summer nook. I love the wicker lampshade, which adds a freshness to the room, and of course flowers never hurt.

There’s nothing like a fresh pair of sheets on a warm summer night. Now is a good time to invest in some beautiful bedding – it can change the entire feel of a room and, as below, you can match up some fresh flowers to your new sheets. Bright, bold and beautiful. Add flip flops for an extra splash of summer.

A touch of Hawaii

Here’s a thought – why not choose a wall in your house and decorate it with amazing palm leaf wallpaper? This is the best idea ever. It’s so bright, so simple and the accessories that go with it are gorgeous. I love the rusted table, the old artisan urns and the vintage bird cage. I’m already digging my old sun shade out of the cupboard.

There’s nothing worse than heavy winter curtains when it’s lovely and sunny outside. Swap in your pair of winter curtains for some light, patterned blinds.  It’ll transform your home and put you in full swing for summer. You know where to buy them.
