Inspiration post: Beautiful bathrooms

August 26th, 2014 by Debbie

There’s nothing like giving your bathroom a makeover, and now is a great time to do it. Just before winter and while the weather’s still warm(ish), you can feel inspired by all the colours of summer and let it remind you of the season during the colder months. Jump a brand new shower in the morning or sink into an expansive vintage bath in the evening. Here are a few ideas to get you started…

Oriental

An oriental inspired bathroom is ultra relaxing and stylish to. Limestone tiling is a great foundation for the look, and you can decorate with framed pictures of orchids and Geishas. A spacious shower works best in this environment, adding to the minimalist luxury.

Monochrome

If you are more interested in a modern and contemporary style, monochrome tiles work very well. I love the gloss-white brick tiles along the walls – it ensures the style isn’t too messy and they don’t clash with the heavily patterned floor tiles. Brass taps are always a tick in my book!

Boho

The boho look is a lot more warm and inviting than the contemporary look and works extremely well in the cold winter months. I love this style as you can match it with anything you fancy – bright, bold rugs and mismatched pictures. These accessories are also easy to switch around if you ever fancy a change.

Kitsch

With the re-emergence of ’70s style on the interiors scene, Kitsch is making a comeback this year. Why not head down to Etsy and buy some absolutely insane novelty wallpaper, or a toilet paper holder that looks like a flamingo? If you don’t want to commit, you could always use this look in the guest bathroom! That way you don’t have to deal with it every day.
