Inspiration post: screen prints

Fancy doing something fun and crafty this bank holiday? Why not try your hand at screen-printing? …Or if that doesn’t appeal, you can try your hand at screen-print shopping.

You can trawl Etsy for hours and come across hundreds of gorgeous screen-prints that will suit any interior. My personal preference is bright and sunny with a hint of nostalgia.

Here are a few ways you can get screen-print into your decor – from child’s nursery to master bedroom, it’s a gorgeous, fun and inexpensive way of brightening up your home.

In the nursery

I love this tasteful animal print that would look equally at home in the nursery as it would in the dining room. Screen-printing often means you need to use block colours so it’s a great way of layering the colour palette in your space.

Cushions

You can screen-print on to anything, including cushion covers. If you have a few plain covers lying around, why not use the tutorial above to screen print something creative on them? I love these fun graphic patterns.

On to fabric

If you want to be a real pro, you can screen-print onto metres of fabric to make curtains (or we can make them for you). Just design your perfect pattern and Bob’s your uncle! Below is a lovely print for a beach house or a sunny guest room.

Cityscape

I love the idea of bringing a sense of nostalgia to this traditional art-form. If you shop around you can find a very cool print of your favourite city, or you can create your own collage and make your own out of personal memories. Fun, easy and a nice trip down memory lane.
