Inspiration post: walks
September 23rd, 2015 by DebbieIf you’re looking for inspiration on how to decorate your home, stop looking inside and start looking outside. I get the best ideas when I’m strolling around my favourite haunts. From canals to parks to woodlands, there’s so many beautiful patterns and shapes on the ground and in the sky, you can’t help but be inspired.
Here are a few of my favourite places to walk in the UK to inspire you with new patterns and textures in your home. Pick up acorns, pine cones or interesting leaves and fill your house full of autumn, for absolutely free.

Southwold, Suffolk
Home to Loom and Last, Southwold is my favourite place to go for a stroll. The jewel in the crown of East Suffolk seaside resorts, Southwold’s tranquil demeanour does nothing to betray its colourful history. Blazing fires and blustering gales over the centuries have been responsible for major refurbs to the pier. It’s a beautiful place to go for a stroll on a Sunday afternoon. Buy this print on Etsy.

Hampton Court, Surrey
Why not take a stroll around the beautiful grounds of Hampton Court Palace on the outskirts of London? It’s free and the gardens are truly breathtaking – You’ll be blown away by all the beautiful flowers and plants that surround you – definitely inspiration for your next home makeover!

Lake District National Park
If you fancy getting out of the city for inspiration, take a trip to the Lake District. The views are incredible and it’s a beautiful place to go all year round. Hire out a cosy cottage and go for autumnal walks, play scrabble and sit by a fire. The landscapes and views will inspire you.

Richmond Park, London
Alternatively, if you’re a city dweller and short on time, find inspiration in Richmond Park. Well known for it’s botanical gardens and deer roaming free, this place is one of London’s hidden gems and is a wonderful way to wile away a Sunday afternoon.
