Inspiration post: Water features
July 22nd, 2014 by DebbieAs the heatwave gathers pace in the UK, there’s nothing more relaxing or refreshing than a cool garden to spend a hot day. A fountain or water feature is a great way of accessorising your garden and adding character to an otherwise neutral space.
Here’s a post that might encourage you to get some water in your garden, and it doesn’t need to blow the bank.

Garden river
This is a gorgeous feature that adds an instant serving of exotic to this garden. It looks clean enough to take a dip on a hot summer’s day, and will look beautiful at night with some feature lighting.

Water farm
The corrugated iron of the tank perfectly complements the cute windmills, making sure this feature doesn’t look too kitsch. It’s also a super cheap alternative to a pond and will suit a wild, unkempt garden beautifully.

Plant pot
There’s no need to transform your entire garden into a watering hole. You can just fill a big plant pot with water and put it on decking or patio to add a cool, summer feature. Just add some floating plants for a mini-pond effect.

Landscaping
If you’re looking to renovate your garden, this beautiful water feature will need the help of a landscaper. It reminds me of an oriental garden, with straight lines and a strong sense of calm. The big, open leaved plants help with this too, and I love the bench at the bottom of the garden where you can enjoy the view.
