Pay a visit to… Pitfield London

October 9th, 2013 by Debbie

Pitfield London is a shop, exhibition space and café based in the heart of Hoxton.

It’s an interior-lover’s haven with furniture ranging from gorgeous wicker chairs to kitchen ware to collaborative textile ranges.

It houses re-invented furniture, vintage finds, designer wallpaper and other delightful curiosities to gawp at for hours. Owned by interior designer Shaun Clarkson and textile designer Paul Brewster, local Hoxtonites, this old curiosity shop was a joint dream of theirs. After years travelling and picking up gems from all around the world the duo had no trouble stocking their huge store with anything from thrifty finds to designer furniture.

If you have a spare moment (or day) this weekend, I highly recommend you pop down here.

You can browse through the endless collections of beautiful one-off pieces, as well as settling down to a cake and coffee at the spacious café.

Not only that, but this fantastic space also hosts exhibitions. They display London designers’ work rotationally. It’s a wonderful way of supporting local designers and also offers a means of escaping every day design and experiencing something truly unique and inspiring. These exhibitions are all about colour, contrast and unusual design.

During design week Pitfield exhibited the Deadgood ‘Plex Collection’, showing as part of the Shoreditch Design Triangle. Here, plex metal has been used on every day furniture to create a slick and inspiring autumnal colour scheme.

So take a trip to Hoxton this weekend and have a nosy around this unique space. You can thank me later…
