Top 5 UK Christmas markets
December 14th, 2015 by DebbieIf you’re anything like me you’ll be having a bit of a panic at not having started your Christmas shopping yet. The idea of heading to Oxford Street at this time of year makes me feel a little bit nauseous, so I’ve decided to look elsewhere.
There are so many gorgeous Christmas markets to catch at this time of year all over the UK. Here are a few of my faves…

1. Manchester Christmas Markets
Manchester is a great city to peruse Christmas markets – there’s several throughout the city, and all in different styles. From German to traditional, you’ll be able to pick up some great presents and make a day of it too.

2. Leadenhall Market
One of London’s covered Christmas markets, you can go any tinme in the lead up to Christmas to discover some amazing crafts, gifts and food and drink too. A must-visit in London!

3. Canterbury Christmas Market
A gorgeous part of England to visit at this time of year. One of the oldest towns in the UK, this place goes all out when it comes to festive cheer and it’s a great place to take the entire family.

4. Norwich Christmas market
This market is around at all times of year, but it really comes to life at Christmas. Buy anything from clothes, art, crafts and other knick-knacks right in the heart of Norwich. Make sure you visit one of the independent coffee shops in the Norwich lanes and grab a cake and a coffee to warm up.

5. Winter Wonderland, Edinburgh
Over the Christmas period Princes Street Gardens in Edinburgh transforms into a Winter Wonderland complete with towering Christmas trees, Christmas Decorations an ice rink and a funfair. There’s also a German Market with quaint wooden stalls selling hot food, mulled wine, crafts and gifts.
